I am the Owner and Creative Director of Lee Floral Design, a boutique floral studio serving Metro Detroit and beyond.

I always thought I would be teaching 6-year-olds in a first-grade classroom at this point in my life. I thought I would read books at storytime, help kids sound out letters, and love every moment. But, with one decision, my life became filled with flowers instead of teaching and changed my future. Floral design is something I “fell into”. I was a bagger at a local grocery store when I was 16 and had the opportunity to become an assistant in the floral department. It beat pushing carts in the parking lot, so why not?! Eighteen years later, with many twists and turns and a partially earned education degree, I still haven’t put flowers down. I couldn’t put flowers down.

This wild life has allowed us to design for over three hundred weddings. It’s genuinely surreal when I reflect on the number of memorable moments we’ve touched. I truly love my job and wouldn’t change it for anything.

When I am not knee-deep in flowers or mood boards, I love spending time with my husband, our baby boy, and our two dogs. We love traveling, being outside, finding great coffee shops, and checking out the newest restaurants nearby. If you’re ever looking for dinner recommendations, I’m your girl.
